Health Tips for 2021

A new year can bring about a fresh start for your health and wellness journey. Many people had extra time in 2020 to ponder their daily fitness and eating habits. Starting the new year off right can mean considering new ways to promote positive thinking and life-giving daily routines. Here are a few simple tips to help improve your physical and mental well-being.
Be active every day.
Even 5 to 10 minutes of intensive activity can increase your mood and boost your metabolic rate. Once you find an exercise routine that fits your schedule and goals, you’ll be more likely to have consistent physical activity for more extended periods.
Eat more vegetables.
Most Americans know they don’t eat enough vegetables. The average person needs about 4 serving of vegetables per day and 3 servings of fruit. When it comes to veggies a half cup cooked vegetables and one cup raw vegetables is considered a serving. Adding vegetables to omelets, smoothies and soups can be an easy way to increase your daily intake.
Limit refined sugar.
This doesn’t mean you have to give up dessert. However it does mean that you should limit packaged snacks, cakes and processed crackers. If you love dessert make your favorite treat at home and share it with friends.
Wash your hands frequently.
The best way to decrease your chance of the common cold and flu is to wash your hands. After trips to the grocery store or public outings it’s best to sanitize your hands and wash them with warm water for 20 seconds.
Drink 8 cups of water every day.
Try drinking your necessary 8 cups of pure water and see how you feel. Staying hydrated helps to transport nutrients and make you feel more energetic.
