Tips for cooking a roasted whole turkey!

The general rule for cooking a Fresh Turkey is 20 minutes per pound, but that can vary depending on whether or not your turkey is stuffed. Begin checking the Turkey for doneness about 30 minutes before the recommended cook time. Turkey is done when the temperature with a meat thermometer is 165°F in breast or thickest part of the thigh. Let Turkey stand for 15 minutes before carving.

Tip For Thawing A Frozen Turkey

The safest method for thawing a Frozen Turkey is to thaw it in the refrigerator. Be sure to plan ahead, it takes approximately 4-5 days for a 20 lb. Frozen turkey to fully defrost. Remember to plan 24 hours for each 5 lb.

Tip For Choosing The Right Size Turkey

It’s recommended about 1 to 1 1/2 pounds for each adult for Turkeys over 12 lb. and 2 pounds for each adult on Turkeys less than 12 lb.
• 10-18 lb. Turkey serves less than 10 adults
• 18-22 lb. Turkey serves 10 to 15 adults
• 22-24 lb. Turkey serves 16-20 adults
