“The 750-ml bottle is our most popular size,” notes Strack & Van Til Sales Manager Mike Nisevich. “Look for featured wines in our weekly ad and purchase any combination of six or more 750-ml and 1.5-liter bottles to save 10% every day.”

Enjoy a glass of your favorite wine with dinner, to celebrate an occasion or just to relax and unwind. To improve the wine experience, pair it with cheese. You’ll find many varieties of specialty cheeses in the Strack & Van Til Deli Department.

According to vincarta.com’s blog post “100 Essential Wine Facts,” the oldest known winery dates to 4100 BCE in Armenia. The Phoenicians introduced wine to the ancient Greeks during the 10th Century BCE, and the Greeks inspired the Romans to grow grapes across their empire. It is believed that U.S. vineyards were planted in California when Thomas Jefferson returned from France with vine cuttings.

Another fun wine fact is that the color of a wine is determined by the contact that the grape juice has with grape skins. Thus, red wine can only be made from blue or purple-skinned grapes. White wine can also be pressed from darker grapes, but only if the juice is separated from the skins. Rosé, which is a shade that falls between red and white, is crafted by allowing the juice to come in limited and controlled contact with dark grape skins.

The next time you shop, visit the wine section at your local Strack & Van Til, choose your favorite varieties and save a bunch of time. Just another way Strack & Van Til delivers on the promise to make customers’ lives easier.
